We are seeking an experienced Environment & Sustainability
Governance Officer who will be responsible for the implementation
and conformance of the Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001),
Health and Safety Management Systems (ISO 45001) and the
implementation and maintenance of the ESG framework. The position
reports to the Director Management Systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop, deploy, and maintain an effective global ESG
framework, ensuring continuous alignment to corporate strategy,
business objectives and global compliance obligations.
- Maintain an up-to-date and relevant (documented) understanding
of applicable sustainability legislative, regulatory, contractual,
and other compliance obligations, and ensure ESG framework remains
continuously compliant and effective.
- Plan, coordinate and/or execute sustainability reporting in
line with applicable legal, regulatory, and contractual
requirements.
- Contribute an ESG perspective to the organizational context,
and propose actions based on changes to internal and external
issues, and stakeholder needs and expectations.
- Develop and maintain ESG policies, procedures and working
instructions where appropriate, ensuring corporate and regulatory
compliance.
- Support teams in the development, deployment, and maintenance
of related functional (or location specific) policies, processes
and procedures and ensure effective integration into the ESG
framework.
- Plan, coordinate, and maintain an ESG Impact, Risk and
Opportunity (IRO) program.
- Ensure functional and geographic awareness and ownership of
relevant Environmental and Social risks and opportunities, and
support applicable risk management, ensuring actions are developed
and executed to address risks and opportunities.
- Measure, monitor and analyze ESG risks and report on options to
reduce risks.
- Develop, coordinate, and maintain an ESG Supplier Assessment
framework, ensuring its ongoing effectiveness in supporting ST
Engineering iDirect ESG framework and strategy.
- Provide updates to Director, Management System on the ongoing
effectiveness of the ESG framework and status of related risk
registers and roadmaps.
- Have practical knowledge in tools and methods for ESG
performance measurement, data analysis and statistics.
- Measure, monitor and analyze ESG performances and report on
gaps.
- Monitor ESG non-conformances and perform Root Cause
Analysis
- Enable and conduct ESG improvements, including short term and
small-scale initiatives and longer term, larger project
initiatives.
- Take initiative to optimize the functional domains and
contribute to Continuous Improvement
- Successful realization of assigned ESG projects or tasks
- Providing ESG trainings and communications
- Establish working groups where appropriate (e.g., Environmental
Working Group) Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, an affinity with technology is an
advantage.
- General knowledge and relevant experience (2+ year) with ISO
Management Systems Environmental Management Systems (ISO14001),
Health and Safety Management Systems (ISO 4501), Quality Management
systems (ISO 9001) and Information Security Management Systems (ISO
27001) in a Product-to-Market and/or Customer-Journey
business.
- Good knowledge of Global Sustainability Reporting Initiative
(GRI), European Sustainability Reporting (ESRS), Corporate
Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), EU Taxonomy, etc.
- General knowledge of business operations.
- Capable to do internal audits.
- Effective communication, presentation, interpersonal, and
organizational skills.
- Ability to conceptualize, analyze, plan, and organize
projects.
- Reasoning skills for problem identification and
resolution.
- Knowledge of tools and methods for process performance
monitoring and analysis.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma and/or Lean is an advantage.
- Computer literate able to utilize different software tools (MS
office, MS project, SAP, JIRA...).
- Must excel at working in a global team environment.
Travel - 25% of international travel may be required.
