Job DescriptionJob Title: Produce Order WriterJob Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Produce Order Writer to join our team at Whole Foods Market. As a Produce Order Writer, you will be responsible for purchasing and replenishing produce, monitoring inventory control, and participating in regional programs for purchasing and promotions.Main Responsibilities:

• Purchasing and Replenishment: Purchase and replenish produce through proper buying procedures, ensuring timely and accurate orders to monitor inventory turns.
• Inventory Control: Monitor and act upon open PO reports for both purchases and credits in an accurate and timely manner, controlling spoilage and shrink, and achieving turn goals.
• Merchandising and Sales: Maximize sales potential through effective and proper procedures for stocking and merchandising products, and analyze and control product transfers, waste, and spoilage.
• Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, addressing needs of customers in a timely and effective manner, and model suggestive selling techniques.
• Operational Execution: Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensuring accuracy of signs and pricing, and maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment.Requirements:
  • Education and Experience: 12+ months retail experience and a strong passion for natural foods and the mission of Whole Foods Market.
  • Skills and Abilities: Extensive produce product knowledge, strong basic math skills, knowledge and ability to use computer programs, and strong to excellent communication skills.Working Conditions:
    • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour work day, and work in wet and dry conditions.
