Job Description:
OverviewThe Senior Security Systems Engineer (SSE) will perform
a key role in leading the day-to-day operations of physical access
control, CCTV, and other physical security systems for our
organization and will report directly to the AVP of Corporate
Security. The role will support site security team and perform a
broad set of tasks including technical applications support of
access control and CCTV systems management, Emergency Notification
systems, and support of field security devices. Responsible for
providing technical Subject-Matter Expertise (SME). The SSE will
also be required to assist in security systems commissioning
activities, in the design and testing of system enhancements and
project activity for new installations or upgrades.

The SSE supports the Corporate Security and Life Safety in its
overall mission in providing a safe and secure environment for
Northwest staff and members. The role requires someone with
advanced technical knowledge and the ability to provide outstanding
levels of security service in a fast-moving, dynamic, and flexible
environment.The ideal candidate will have proven success in a
security technology or related role. A technical understanding of
hardware, software, development, and production support
methodologies, as well as project management experience is desired.
While primary duty hours are day shift, candidates must be flexible
to work in the event of emergencies or other operational
needs.Responsibilities
- Application Manager for Kantech access control system and CCTV.
End user management; application configuration; functionality;
compliance and performance monitoring.
- Conducts physical system inspections and audits, monitors
system performance and alarms, identifies, and tracks system
deficiencies and takes corrective action if any system components
fail.
- Investigate and troubleshoot issues by determining root cause
to remediate application issues and develop proactive measures to
prevent future occurrences.
- Design, develop, implement, and evaluate training plans,
business systems, and policies to aid in increased awareness and
organizational security.
- Change Implementation responsibility for support processes and
management of the security systems from an operational perspective
and application owner, and third-party contractors.
- Centrally document system designs, configurations, and
troubleshooting guidance by writing and diagramming relevant
information and creating FAQs for supporting common issues.
- Maintain a general understanding of security industry
technology trends and a thorough understanding of all company
products and services and technologies.
- Build partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to
ensure collaborative success and keep abreast of new and improving
technologies and solutions.
- Provide well-written reports and verbal brief outs on projects,
initiatives, and other technology updates as assigned.
- Serve as a point of escalation, guidance, training, and
mentoring for Operations staff and partners.
- Routinely exercise independent discretion and judgment to
oversee all physical security systems.
- Printing badges for employees and contractors as needed on a
scheduled and drop-in basis.
- Oversight of contractors and vendors performing work on
physical security technology and equipment.
- Collaborate with Information Technology staff to conduct
operational testing and ensure system maintenance is conducted for
reliability of systems.
- Remain cognizant of and adhere to NWFCU policies and procedures
as well as regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act
(BSA).Qualifications
- Associate degree in Electronics, Information Systems, or a
related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years relevant experience in administering physical
security systems for a medium to large size agency, including
security applications software and hardware.
- Physical Security Systems programming, management, design, and
emergency management.
- Software, hardware, and systems development life cycles and
process improvement techniques.
- Knowledge of Access Control systems to include Physical
Identity Access Management (PIAM), Physical Access Control Systems
(PACS), Visitor Management Systems (VMS), Access Control Devices &
Equipment.
- Knowledge of IT systems and configuration, including networking
of security systems and devices.
- Proficient working knowledge of servers, applications,
databases, Windows OS, networks, and peripheral hardware.
- Card Access Systems, Video Systems Management, and Key
Control.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and quality.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving
skills.
- High degree of comfort in fast-paced dynamic/ambiguous
environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level security
