Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not
limited to, the following:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supports general content edits of websites, mini-sites, and
applications as required by business areas as assigned by Web
Editor or Web Producer. Ensures websites are accurately updated and
validates all content edits on sites.
Assists with general content edits, preparing content in web style
format and web testing of team projects and day-to-day activities
through use of content management system, Dreamweaver and
PhotoShop. Ensures all web writing is consistent with the standard
e-writing guidelines.
Assists with the change process for all content edits on external
facing CareFirst websites to ensure that the site's content is in
compliance with current legal and branding regulations.
Participates in all types of day-to-day content edits for all
external facing CareFirst websites by learning and understanding
site requirements, making basic content edits using CMS tool and
Dreamweaver, assisting in the review of content to ensure web
readiness. Assists with daily testing of sites and helps with
project testing of the sites as needed.
SCOPE DATA:
Range of projects: Supports day-to-day web content edits. Projects
range from PDF swaps, content updates and support of testing for
larger, corporate projects.
Effective development, use, and maintenance of CareFirst.com will
enable CareFirst's primary web users (Brokers, Employers, Member
and Providers) to engage in online education, training and
resources. Increased online usage will decrease phone support and
ultimately increase sales, reduce medical and administrative
expenses and provide faster, more efficient service to the
company¿s stakeholders.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Required
Bachelor's degree required with a minimum of one to two years of
website content management experience. Recent graduates with a
degree in IT, Website design or content development will be
considered. Must have general knowledge of website functionality.
Working knowledge of Dreamweaver and PhotoShop are required.
Previous web content management and proofreading and editing
experience preferred. This position requires excellent time
management skills and attention to details and consistency. Also
required are outstanding interpersonal and team environment
skills.
Abilities/Skills
Must have ability to understand or quickly learn general concept of
content management system when editing CareFirst.com and ancillary
sites content. The ability to understand basic HTML, CSS and
effectively communicate it to the internal Electronic
Communications team is essential.
The successful candidate must also possess:
Knowledge of PCs and the Internet Working knowledge of web
development software and coding (i.e. Dreamweaver, Adobe
Professional, HTML,PhotoShop etc.)
Familiarity with content management systems (Macromedia Contribute,
Sharepoint, Team Site, Documentum, etc.) is a plus but not
necessary. Candidate will be required to gain proficiency in
TeamSite, WCM and Portal environments after hire.
Candidate would be required in this position to learn basic web
usability methodology and standards, 508 compliance preparation of
web content.
Proficiency in the MS Office Suite, particularly Word and
Excel.
Experience in digital media including e-newsletters, online video,
Facebook, Twitter, blogs, etc. is a plus.
