DAS Field Engineer
Our client is a leading provider of advanced communication solutions, specializing in the design, implementation, and support of DAS and RF technologies. With a focus on delivering exceptional service and innovation, they partner with top-tier OEMs to enhance connectivity in diverse environments.
They are seeking a skilled and motivated DAS Field Engineer to join their growing team. This role is critical in commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) and RF systems. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, able to work independently, and have a strong background in DAS technologies from leading OEMs like CommScope, JMA, SOLiD, and ADRF.

    Focus:

    • Perform comprehensive analysis, commissioning, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of DAS and RF equipment for various venues and customers, focusing on antennas, fiber optic cables, power cables, and coaxial cables.
    • Collaborate closely with project managers and installation teams to ensure top-quality wireless equipment installations, including the setup of both coaxial and fiber optic infrastructures.
    • Execute performance testing, such as Passive Intermodulation (PIM) and sweep tests, and conduct site surveys, CW testing, and OTDR testing to ensure optimal system performance.
    • Participate in site walks and preconstruction activities, providing technical updates and serving as a primary technical resource for resolving field issues and project escalations.
    • Support acceptance testing to align with client coverage requirements and ensure proper integration with macro cellular networks.
    • Maintain familiarity with industry safety standards, local codes, and company protocols for installation, ensuring compliance in all field operations.

      Skill Set:

      • Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with DAS equipment, including installation and troubleshooting of related components.
      • Certification in DAS systems, particularly from major manufacturers such as ADRF, CommScope, Corning, and SOLiD, is preferred.
      • Experience using diagnostic and testing equipment, including spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and benchmarking tools such as PCTEL, JDSU, or Rohde & Schwarz.
      • Technical proficiency in the following areas:

        • RF antennas and cabling
        • DAS OEM equipment (e.g., CommScope, JMA, SOLiD, ADRF)
        • Installation and testing of coaxial, fiber optic, and CAT 5 cables
        • Use of RF testing and propagation tools
        • Performing continuous wave (CW) testing
