Chemours is seeking an Assistant Controller to join our Finance team! This position will report directly to the Controller and Chief Accounting Officerat our Wilmington, DE location.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in leading our external reporting, internal controls and compliance, and global accounting compliance functions. A key responsibility will be addressing and resolving material weaknesses, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

External Reporting:

  • Oversee the preparation of Chemours' external financial reports, including SEC Filings (10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, Proxy) and other regulatory reports.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all financial disclosures in accordance with GAAP, SEC regulations, and other relevant standards.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process to ensure timely completion of audits and reviews.


    Internal Controls and Compliance:
    • Develop, implement, and maintain a robust internal control framework to address and resolve material weaknesses and ensure compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) requirements.
    • Conduct regular assessments of internal controls, identify areas for improvement, and implement remediation plans.
    • Monitor compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.


      Global Technical Accounting and Policy:
      • Lead the global technical accounting and accounting policy function, ensuring adherence to local and international accounting standards and regulations.
      • Partner with business, plant and regional accounting teams to ensure consistency and accuracy in financial reporting across all subsidiaries.
      • Stay current on changes in accounting standards and regulations and assess their impact on the company's financial reporting and compliance.


        Team Leadership:
        • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team responsible for external reporting, internal controls and compliance, and global accounting compliance.
        • Foster a collaborative, results-driven culture within the team.
        • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance the team's skills and knowledge.


          Financial Analysis and Reporting:
          • Analyze financial statements and key performance indicators to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
          • Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
          • Prepare and present financial reports to senior management, the Board of Directors, and other stakeholders.


            Process Improvement:
            • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the finance function.
            • Leverage technology and automation to streamline reporting and compliance processes.
            • Continuously assess and refine financial policies and procedures to ensure best practices.


              The following is required for this role:
              • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or relevant professional certification preferred.
              • A minimum of 12 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field, with a focus on external reporting, internal controls, and compliance.
              • Proven experience in resolving material weaknesses and implementing effective internal control frameworks.
              • Strong understanding of GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX compliance requirements.
              • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
              • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
              • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset.
              • High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.


                The following is preferred for this role:
                • Experience in a publicly traded company.
                • Experience with global accounting compliance and multinational operations.
                • Familiarity with financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
                • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.

                  Pay Range (in local currency):
                  $169,344.00 - $264,600.00

                  Chemours Level:
                  30

                  Annual Bonus Target:
                  27%

                  Annual Stock Amount
                  65,000.00 USD
